Entrance – The Lobby

Upon arriving at Ama-Teras, I was immediately charmed by its welcoming entrance.

The lobby boasts a delightful decorative tree where guests can hang ema (votive tablets), setting a thoughtful, personal tone right from the start.

A welcome drink station offered complimentary coffee and water, while the bar counter featured adorable ornaments that added a playful touch to the ambiance.

Open-Air Baths
Private Open-Air Bath with Pool

One of the standout features of Ama-Teras is the private open-air bath with a pool.

Imagine soaking in a soothing onsen while taking in breathtaking natural vistas—it’s a perfect fusion of relaxation and scenic beauty.

The area’s entrance is inviting, and there are four of these unique baths available. One section even features a cozy swing designed for two adults, enhancing the intimate atmosphere. Although the space is modest, it’s ideally sized for 2–3 people, offering a truly personal experience.

In-Room Private Onsen

Each room at Ama-Teras comes complete with its own private onsen, providing a luxurious escape right within your personal space.

The in-room bath transforms into an enchanting retreat at night, where you can soak while admiring the softly lit surroundings.

Even in the early hours, the hot spring flows continuously—making a refreshing morning bath a delightful treat.

For convenience, a separate shower room is also provided.
The Room

The rooms at Ama-Teras are spacious and tastefully designed, offering a perfect blend of comfort and style.

Every detail is considered—from the ample space to the elegant décor that creates a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Room Amenities & Services

Ama-Teras truly pampers its guests with thoughtful in-room amenities. A water dispenser ensures you’re always refreshed, while the mini-fridge is stocked with complimentary treats such as liquor, orange juice, and oolong tea.

Additionally, you can enjoy a selection of Kagoshima’s renowned teas and coffees, along with a variety of cookies and all the basic necessities like a hairdryer.

Dining at Ama-Teras
Dinner

Dinner at the inn was a culinary delight. The meal featured a shabu-shabu made with locally sourced Kagoshima meat, and the dessert was almost too cute to eat! Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, highlighting the rich flavors of the region.

Breakfast

Breakfast continued the gastronomic excellence with a Western-style buffet that featured an array of delicious dishes and a tempting selection of desserts. If you’re hungry for more details (and more photos!), be sure to check out my separate post on Ama-Teras’ dining experiences.
